As a concerned citizen, one of the most influential things you can do is to contact your elected state representatives and communicate your displeasure with the proposed withdrawal of education funds.

Please consider the following points:

  • Personal letter or email is most effective, but faxing and telephone calls are also useful.
  • 2) Tell your own personal story, preferably in your own handwriting – this is especially important when using pre-printed post cards or form letter.
  • 3) Request them to take specific action, be respectful, and recognize that they feel they are supporters of education in their own way.
  • 4) Include your name and address.
