Foundation. Our thanks to Joan Kemper, Jimmy Calire, Gai Jones, J.B. White, and

who attended!
Ojai Education Foundation
Sponsors
The Ojai Education Foundation is a community-based, nonprofit organization that promotes excellence in public education by building community support and providing resources to our schools.
Since 1993 the Ojai Education Foundation has been working to ‘create a vibrant, rich, inspiring educational experience for the children of Ojai.’
Directed by an independent non-salaried board of community members and supported exclusively by contributions from Ojai residents
and local area businesses, OEF manifests the spirit of a community that takes pride in, and responsibility for, the public
education of its children.
OEF provides an opportunity for the Ojai Valley community to support our students with the resources they need to excel in their educational goals.
A summary of OEF recent activities is contained in our
2006 Annual Report
and our
2005 Annual
Report.

Mini-Grants
2009-2010 Mini-Grants have been awarded in a cooperative effort by OEF and
Rotary Club of Ojai-West
Our Mini-Grant program directs
funds where needed most to improve our children's education. Examples include;
instruments for our award-winning jazz bands, equipment for hands-on science
programs, books for innovative literature projects, and the county's first teen mentoring conference.
This year we had a tremendous joint effort with Rotary Ojai-West, allowing us to jointly fund more projects than either organization
could do alone. Click here

Education Heroes
2008 OEF Education Hero of the Year Selected
2009 Teachers of the Year selected and honored
Hosted by the Ojai Valley Inn and co-sponsored with the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation, the Ojai Golf Classic delivers a great time at a world-class facility while providing valuable educational resources to our classrooms.

On September 13, 2008, OEF sponsored its third annual "Garden of
Knowledge," a beautiful fall evening of gourmet food, art, music
and entertainment. This event is one of the primary sources of all funds that
allows the Ojai Education Foundation (“OEF”) to continue to provide programs
that directly benefit the youth of our valley in our public schools. For more
information, click here.
The second annual "Garden of Knowledge" event was an outstanding success (click
for pictures and a review).
The Save Ojai Schools Campaign was successfully
concluded in July 2008! A coordinated campaign by
The Ojai Education Foundation and the PTA/PTO organizations of Mira Monte,
Meiners Oaks, Topa Topa, San Antonio, Summit, Matilija, and Nordhoff raised over
$62,000 for the Ojai Unified School District, preventing school closures and
class size expansion. Also, public awareness of the budget crisis was raised by
the campaign, and citizens were encouraged to contact their elected
representatives. For more information, click here. |
